People who love reading feel that we "see" the story we are hooked by. It's really like that: our brain doesn't distinguish between read and lived events. This year we take a step further to make accessible to everyone the literature magic. Do you want to read for free while discovering new writers? We introduce you 'Wattpad' platform and in Tiktok there is Booktok, by the way, we are proud to announce that a job mate, she is a devote reader especially of romance and fantasy novels reviews books.

Let's access the reviews she publishes under the 'nickname' @Haterbook:

Also for Sant Jordi it is a tradition in Catalonia that writers sign books: here you can find out where your favorite authors sign their books in Barcelona.

1-'Our mothers' by Gemma Ruiz Palà (awarded with Sant Jordi Prize 2023 narrative in Catalan). It wants to honor the generation that gave up dreams so that their daughters could choose. Ten protagonists born during the dictatorship who were not allowed to display their talents.

2-"El Cuco de Cristal/the crystal cuckoo" by Javier Castillo (2023). Cora Merlo, a first year resident doctor, suffers a fulminant heart attack that forces her to undergo a transplant. Still convalescing, the young woman receives a visit from a strange woman with an enigmatic offer.

3-'Case Study' by Graeme Mcrae Burnet, crime novel (2022). The protagonist receives a letter about a controversial psychiatrist who seems to have induced the suicide of a person by his methods. One of the charms of the crime novel is that, as a genre, it is not very friendly to summaries, it is addictive and, in addition, it allows to portray the society where the narrative is set.

4-'From Blood and Ash' by Jennifer L. Armentrout, fantasy (2023):
Currently composed of four main published books (in total there will be 6): "Of Blood and Ashes", "A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire", "A Crown of Golden Bones" and "The War of the Two Queens". There is a parallel saga consisting of the Spin-off which will be a trilogy, currently with two books published: "A Shadow in the Embers" and "A Light in the Flame" (published 04/04/2023). On these two lines of books a series adaptation will be made by Amazon.

5- The romantic-youth saga 3 months by your side" by Joana Marcús, composed of three books already published: "Antes de diciembre", "Después de diciembre" and "Tres Meses". The author became famous from the Wattpad platform, where she continues writing the story of this trilogy.

6- "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" by Robin Sharma. It recounts the life of a highly successful lawyer who experiences how his days seem to revolve uncontrollably around money. Suddenly he suffers a heart attack that will lead him to rethink his life goals.

7-"Mis ganas ganan" by Elena Huelva. This book is once again at the top of the bestseller list. Its author was a famous influencer who made of her fight against cancer a vital journey that moved and motivated us in equal parts, she finally died a few months ago. Her book is part of her legacy. Her optimism and courage permeate the entire book where she narrates the day to day in the hospital and the process of the disease.

8-The Anna Kadabra saga and the Marcus Pocus saga, both by Pedro Mañas (children's). Anna Kadabra is an ideal collection for first readers from the age of seven. With magical creatures, flying scooters, mischievous pets, ideal characters to encourage reading at this age. In addition, he meets his best friend Marcus Pokus, a witch-trapper learning to be a sorcerer from the Full Moon Club.

We also recommend a philosophy book and a classic:

9-"Diary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki" by Günther Anders, philosophy (1958). In 1916 the tank erased forever the cavalry from the battlefield. In 1917 the Iperite gas asphyxiated 5,000 soldiers. The atomic bomb is the next level on the scale of terror: it threatens all mankind. The book is a valuable and shocking warning written only thirteen years after the dropping of the bomb. By the way, today we know that Einstein literally said: "I regret it very much - the impulse of the bomb - it was a great misfortune".

10- "Wuthering Heights" by Emily Brontë, romantic literature (1847). We close the list with a classic with a structure worthy of the best literary goldsmithing. Mr. Earnshaw is the father of Hindley and Catherine. After a journey the father returns accompanied to his property - the farm called Wuthering Heights - by Heathcliff a beggar boy. The initial reaction of the two siblings to the newcomer is not favorable (ranging from Catherine's initial coldness to Hindley's permanent contempt). The plot will be enriched when Catherine falls in love with Heathcliff because it allows her to step out of the lady-like role Hindley has designed for her, as suggested by his wife Frances to separate her sister from Heathcliff. Great human passions guide the characters.

We hope you enjoy this Sant Jordi and good reading!
