The gas price limit: a way to pay gas production

From June 15, 2022, the so-called the gas 'price cap' is in force in Spin. This state central regulation will result in a variable increase in the price of electricity bills. In the image that illustrates this news you can see highlighted in red where are, within the invoice, the two concepts corresponding to the referred gas cap (or surcharge).

What legislation regulates the gas surcharge? Royal Decree Law 10/2022 of 13 May.

The Royal Decree 10/2022 establishes different dates to withhold:

The 'price cap' is in force from 15/06/22 for all contracts with indexed energy price or those belonging to the regulated market (PVPC).

The 'price cap' is activated from 26/04/2022 For fixed price contracts already in force as soon as the same is renewed.

For new contracts the 'price cap' is in force from 26/04/2022.

In principle the mechanism will be in force until 31/05/2023.
